1998 Petite Sirah Napa Valley

Production: 400 cases
Alcohol: 14.7%

Elegant deep garnet color with bright clarity.

Nose: Full ripe plum with hints of lingering licorice, dry oak and cedar.

Palate: Full mouth coating. Round, bright tannins with cleansing acidity. Rich and expansive black plum and blackberry jam with cedar and a hint of fresh cranberry. Extended blackberry jam finish with intimations of autumn spices, allspice and clove.

The fruit is sourced from multiple vineyards throughout the Napa Valley. Each of the old-vine vineyards has distinct characteristics associated with its fruit. The characteristics of the fruit from the warmer climes of the vineyard in Calistoga blend well with the qualities of the fruit from the vineyards in St. Helena combining to contribute balance to the wine. This balance provides one with the ability to drink the wines now as well as the backbone to enjoy this wine for many years.

Aged in French oak barrels for 20 months.
